 Winter 2012

 http://www.aromanticsperspective.com//0mu_online15/tons/headers_bars/weby_hdr9.jpg  "Ice" skate through winter!

A cold winter is a reality in the Windy City. Some years are more extreme than others, yet you may always rely on chilly to chilling temperatures, and  snowfall at some points.

For those who wish to evade this reality I say, what the heck are you doing in Chicago?
Fellas, remind your darling to embrace the Chicago winter by inviting her to ice skate.
Make it a comforting and romantic experience.
Firstly, be prepared to love her ice skating skills, be they wobbly and needing you to hold her strong, or strong and requiring your chase.
Secondly, have a plan for a cup o' cocoa afterward and comfort food.

Places to skate
"Rink at Wrigley" at the corner of Clark and Waveland, offers skating just outside the famous ballpark.  It's open until Febraary 26th, 2012. Hours are 2 p.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 2p.m.-11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $5 per adult Monday through Thursday, and $10 per adult Friday through Sunday. Season passes are available for $60. Skate rentals are available for an additional $5/ adult.
Ice Rink in Millennium Park, on North Michigan Avenue near Randolph Street. It's open through March 11, 2012. Hours are noon-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday; noon-10 p.m. Saturday; noon-9 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is free. Skate rentals are available for $10/ person.
Hot Cocoa afterward
Each of these ice skating venues has pubs within a baseball's throw away. It will be fun to take hands, follow the magic and wander into a cozy establishment. Whether or not they have cocoa, they'll likely have coffee -- and the means to spike either one.
Take your time, enjoy the warming beverage while your rosy cheeks thaw. Have a cup or two before ordering comfort food from the menu.

More information: Rink at Wrigley; ice rink in Millennium Park.
