Kansas State Capitol visitor entrance

Topeka is the Capitol City of Kansas! ’Tis the home of the State Capitol that stands regal along the downtown skyline. And, ’tis open for tours Monday through Saturday.
This is fabulous, as the Capitol has been renovated to meet its original brilliance. The renovation lasted from 2001 to 2014, at a cost reaching over $300 million. And now, murals have been re-discovered, staircases have been polished to showcase their copper. Ornate details in stencils and carvings and more throughout the rooms and corridors, show vividly, all to the integrity of the Capitol’s historical design.
Two scheduled tours are available at free admission: Historical Tours, and Dome Tours.
