Relish in farmers markets, even now

We tend to envision farmers markets as fair weather markets, where we’re not wearing a jacket while we shop, and likely we’re challenged by the summer heat.
     O yes, spring and autum add occasional exceptions to that no-jacket vision, and at any time we might need to bring our umbrellas.
     Few of us consider visiting farmers markets in winter. Yet here in Chicago, some farmers markets are simply brought indoors.
That’s fabulous news! Even in the winter, we may access locally grown produce, fresh or preserved.
     Most farmer’s offer sustainable and organic products. All the more healthy and delicious for us!
     And most farmers offer a smile while you buy their wares. Many are open to share recipe tips and ideas; go ahead and ask.
