“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”
― C.S. Lewis ____________
Mr. Lewis was an essayist and author most known for his Chronicles of Narnia fantasy novel series. He was indeed a noted writer. As his quote above reveals, he was also a Bibliophile.
A bibliophile is one who has a penchant for reading, or for collecting books, especially books that have impressive binding or printing.
Mr. Lewis was insatiable. According to a Wikipedia article, C.S. Lewis loved to read since he was a child, as his father was a “bibliophile” who filled the house with so many books, the home was a veritable library. Finding a book to read, Mr. Lewis reminisced, was as easy as walking into a field and “finding a new blade of grass.”
Modern bibliophiles share the same passion for reading, and love libraries and used book stores. They accumulate their own libraries to fill home bookshelves.
We writers love readers. In honor of bibliophiles who love to collect and share print books, I designed my poetry book Growing Up (the pain, the joy, the discoveries) to be beautiful outside as well as inside. It’s a lovely 7″x7″ size and designed as a keepsake with a cloth hardcover and silk screen title and spine, covered with a beautiful book jacket. I invite you to check it out, and see a few testimonials here.
Are you a Bibliophile? If so, do you prefer print books or to cozy up to a Kindle?
