“If I could drink only one wine, it would be Champagne.”
—–Gary Vaynerchuk
Champagne is the feature wine at The House of Glunz 11th annual Champagne and Caviar Tasting 5:30-7:30 p.m., Friday November 21st 2014.
Well, sparkling wine is — be it Champagne from France, Prosecco from Italy, Cava from Spain, domestic sparklings or imported. Around 40 bubblies will be available to taste. Also available to taste caviar, sushi, and gourmet pork chop pieces. Everything at this grand tasting will be available for sale — to enjoy at home, share at parties or to give as gifts.
Yet first, begin with the evening. Savor the tastes at your fingertips. Enjoy the company.
Imbibe in the atmosphere. The House of Glunz is the oldest wine shop in Chicago. Louis Glunz opened it in 1888, and it remained in the family since. The store maintains the dark wood, Old World ambience. Mr. Glunz’s great granddaughter, Barbara Glunz-Donovan, and her son Christopher Donovan run the shop now, from wine selection to hosting events.
